Keeping children safe

Our commitment to safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. Safeguarding is woven through everything we do — from our nurturing, trauma-informed ethos to our staff training, recruitment and daily care. All staff are trained to recognise and respond to any concern about a child’s welfare.

Designated Safeguarding Lead

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Myra Hughes. If you have any concern about the safety or welfare of a child, please contact her without delay through the school office on 01600 772213 or by email at mhughes@llangattockschoolmonmouth.co.uk.

If a child is in immediate danger, always call 999. You can also contact Monmouthshire children’s services or the NSPCC helpline (0808 800 5000) at any time.

Our full safeguarding and child protection policy is available on request from the school office.
