Llangattock School Monmouth is committed to protecting the privacy of pupils, families, staff and visitors to our website. This notice explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

Depending on your relationship with the school, we may collect: contact details of parents and prospective parents who enquire or apply; pupil information necessary for admission, education, safeguarding and wellbeing; staff and applicant information; and enquiry details submitted through this website. We collect only what we need, to provide education and care, to meet our legal and safeguarding duties, and to respond to enquiries.
We process personal information on the basis of: our legitimate interests as a school; the performance of a contract (for example, a place at the school); compliance with our legal obligations (including safeguarding and statutory returns); and, where relevant, your consent — which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not sell your information. We share it only where necessary and lawful — for example with local authorities, examination boards, or other agencies where we have a legal or safeguarding duty to do so, and with trusted service providers who help us operate. trusted service providers who help us run the school, and relevant education and health professionals involved in a child’s support
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law and our retention policy. Our full retention schedule is available from the school office on request.
You have the right to access the information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent where applicable. To exercise any of these rights, please contact our Data Protection Officer. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
We want to understand how our website is used so we can improve it — but only with your agreement. When you first visit, we ask whether you are happy for us to use analytics. Nothing non-essential is switched on unless you choose “Accept”.
If you accept, we use Google Analytics to collect anonymous information about how visitors use the site — for example which pages are viewed and roughly where visitors come from. Your IP address is anonymised, and this data is not used to identify you personally. You can decline, or change your mind at any time by clearing your browser’s data for this site. We do not use advertising cookies.
